POPIA Notice

Last updated: 7 September 2026

Fire Brand Group processes personal information in accordance with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and explains how data subjects can exercise their rights.

1. Responsible party and scope

Fire Brand Group is the responsible party for personal information processed through this website and in connection with enquiries, quotations, assessments, projects, supplier relationships, recruitment, and ongoing client services. The exact information processed depends on your relationship and interaction with us.

2. Lawful and limited processing

We process information for a specific, lawful purpose and limit collection to information that is adequate, relevant, and not excessive for that purpose. Processing may be necessary to respond to your request, take steps towards or perform a contract, meet a legal obligation, pursue a legitimate business or safety interest, or act with your consent where required.

3. Information quality and openness

We take reasonable steps to keep personal information complete, accurate, and updated where necessary. This notice and our Privacy Policy describe the categories collected, purposes, likely recipients, and how to contact us. Please tell us when information supplied to us changes.

4. Operators, sharing, and cross-border processing

Authorised employees, contractors, and service providers may process information only where needed for their duties or services. Some technology providers may store or process data outside South Africa. Where cross-border processing occurs, we take reasonable steps to use recipients subject to appropriate legal protection, agreements, or other safeguards permitted by POPIA.

5. Security safeguards

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against loss, damage, unauthorised destruction, unlawful access, or unauthorised processing. If a security compromise creates a notification duty, affected data subjects and the Information Regulator will be notified as required by law.

6. Your POPIA rights

  • Ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access.
  • Request correction or deletion of inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, outdated, incomplete, misleading, or unlawfully obtained information.
  • Object to processing in circumstances permitted by POPIA.
  • Withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.
  • Object to unsolicited electronic direct marketing and use the opt-out in any marketing message.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator or pursue another remedy available under law.

7. Submit a request

Email info@firebrandsa.co.za with the subject “POPIA Request.” We may need reasonable proof of identity before disclosing, correcting, or deleting information. Some records may need to be retained where required by law or where a lawful exception applies.

8. Information Regulator

You may contact or lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator South Africa. The official text and commencement information for POPIA are available from the South African Government.
